Intro: This is one of my favourite gay movies (or movies specifically made for gay people) and it was insane to me that Yegor had never seen it before.
Film 2402: "Burlesque" (2010), Steve Antin
Watched: From the TV
Language: English
Watched with: Yegor
Thoughts: I love this movie, I think it's camp and fun and the sountrack is iconic. Cher and Christina (it's her birthday today!) are a great combo and in general the cast of this movie is so packed with actors you've 100% seen before.
Great fun.
Film 209 - Burlesque
Film 226 - Burlesque
Film 251 - Burlesque
Film 376 - Burlesque
Film 1161 - Burlesque
Film 1643 - Burlesque
Film 2253 - Burlesque
Film 2402 - Burlesque
Cast: Cher, Christina Aguilera, Eric Dane, Cam Gigandet, Julianne Hough, Alan Cumming, Peter Gallagher, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci.
Box Office: $90.5 million
Worth a watch?: One of my favourite musicals. I know it's not groundbreaking or anything, but it's fun and funny, the songs are good and Cher is, as always, iconic. Always a great rewatch.
Awards: 3 Golden Globe nominations for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Original Song for "Bound to You" and "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me", it won for the latter (specifically, Diane Warren). 2 Grammy nominations for Best Song Written for Visual Media anf Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Christina Aguilera was nominated for Best Female Breakout Star at the MTV Movie Awards, while Cher got an (disgraceful) nomination as Worst Supporting Actress at the Razzies.
Key word: Wagon Wheel Watusi.
