Razzie Awards 2017: nomination e vincitori

Solitamente, è vero, sono le nomination ai Razzie ad uscire prima di quelle degli Oscar, ma quest'anno è stato tutto molto particolare e già che sono riuscito a pubblicare il consueto post sulle nomination degli Academy Awards nonostante 38 di febbre è stato un miracolo. Quindi eccole, in ritardo, anche le candidature ai Razzie di questo 2017. Ovvero il peggio del peggio. Circa.
Come da tradizione i vincitori saranno svelati la sera prima degli Oscar, quindi l'appuntamento è per sabato 25 febbraio per scoprire a chi andranno i famigerati lamponi (io quoto moltissimo il documentario su Hillary)!

Film 1111 - Gods of Egypt

Un profumo di trash inebriante mi ha convinto a scegliere questa pellicola...

Film 1111: "Gods of Egypt" (2016) di Alex Proyas

Pensieri: Più che un film un videogioco. E' questo sotanzialmente l'elemento caratterizzante di "Gods of Egypt", teoricamente blockbuster testosteronico dall'incasso facile. Nella realtà il film è stato un clamoroso flop, sicuramente dovuto ad una serie di aspetti che velocemente si possono elencare così:
a) un cast non particolarmente accattivante: Gerard Butler è in declino da un bel po', lo dimostra anche l'insuccesso di "Attacco al potere 2"; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ha goduto di una certa fama di riflesso dopo il successo de "Il trono di spade", ma non si può dire che abbia sfondato; a parte Geoffrey Rush non ci sono altri attori di rilievo e Brenton Thwaites protagonista secondo me porta sfortuna (vedi "The Giver - Il mondo di Jonas");
b) la storia è un mix di elementi che con l'antico Egitto c'entrano poco e niente. Se da una parte potrebbe essere divertente sperimentare un mix di elementi alla "Indiana Jones" + "300" + "La mummia" + "Scontro tra titani" + "Immortals", nel concreto la trama è debole e sciocca e le trovate per caratterizzare questa produzione sono più bislacche che geniali o divertenti;
c) gli effetti speciali fanno schifo. Non so se mi era mai capitato di esprimermi in questo modo in relazione a una pellicola, ad ogni modo il termine è appropriato. Brutti, evidentementi finti, più brutti perfino di quelli di "Power Rangers - Il film", che pure era del 1995. Con un budget di 140 milioni di dollari, il risultato doveva essere superiore.
Insomma, non che mi aspettassi nulla di che, per carità, ma forse il risultato è stato perfino più brutto di quanto mi aspettassi. Diciamo che speravo nella solita pellicola sciocca e un po' trash ma di intrattenimento in stile Hollywood, ma devo dire che il risultato finale è perfino inferiore.
Cast: Brenton Thwaites, Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, Geoffrey Rush, Harsh Kumar.
Box Office: $132.9 milioni
Consigli: Non esattamente un ottimo risultato. Anzi, più che altro insufficiente. Eppure se siete fan di prodotti sciocchi tutti effetti speciali (brutti) e botte da orbi tra divinità con annessa gelosia familiare, questo è il titolo che fa per voi. Non passerà alla storia per la sua originalità, ma di sicuro è talmente fatto male che rimane impresso. E intrattiene.
