Film 2482 - Miss Congeniality

Intro: I didn't get the chance to write anything new over the past few days because I was hospitalised a week ago. There's (still) an issue with my eyes - I constantly see double, they call it diplopia apparently - and the doctors cannot figure out what's causing it. It's getting much better - I can even write here! - but it still tires me out to look at a screen for too long, and it takes a lot of energy to focus on typing and reading, so I'm taking it easy for now.

Thoughts: Originally, we watched this movie to get ready for the Babes Awards - an award show my friends and I organise to give ourselves crazy titles like 'Drama Queen', 'Sporty Babe' or 'Best Couple' - because Niamh and I wanted to perform the famous opening number from the Miss United States beauty pageant featured here. Like, let's be real for a moment: "One in a Million" is a banger!
So, our plan was to study the choreography they do here and replicate it as the opening number for the 2026 Babes Awards. Reality is, there was just too much going on, our energy levels were low, and we ended up scrapping the idea in favour of something simpler: a picture and video collection of our friend group from previous years, set to the UK Traitors theme song. And that one, too, is another banger.
To be fair though, after watching "Hokum", going for something brighter and lighter in tone was definitely the right call. Not to mention that "Miss Congeniality" is just a damn good movie. It's a feel-good story, it's well told and imaginative, and it's genuinely funny. I wish they still made this kind of movie, where the premise is simple but effective, the story is fully fleshed out, and the cast is filled with true A-listers from both the present and the past. I mean, it's mind-blowing to think that "Miss Congeniality" brought together Sandra Bullock, Michael Caine, Candice Bergen, and William Shatner in the same film.
The sequel isn't nearly as good, but this one's iconic.

Worth a watch?: I love romcoms from this era; there's something about them that I really miss and cherish. Back when this came out, "Miss Congeniality" was considered a chick flick, a lesser movie compared to other, more "worthy" films. The reality is that, 26 years later, it's not only a comfort watch, but it's also still genuinely good and incredibly entertaining. If you haven't watched it yet, it's time to give it a go!

Thoughts: The more I watch this movie, the more I enjoy it. Back in the day, I think it was considered just a "silly" romcom, but nowadays it has gained cult status — and rightfully so.
Reese Witherspoon's performance as Elle Woods is perfect. She embodies the character in such a unique way; she was truly meant to play this part, and it definitely helped launch her career.
"Legally Blonde" is more than just a chick flick, and I think time has proven that. When it first came out, although it was a huge financial success, received accolades, and became part of pop culture, I still think it was viewed as a film made for young girls — just another comedy centered around romance and not much else. Movies like this one, "Mean Girls" or "Clueless", all proved to be much more than that, establishing legacies that would have been hard to predict 20+ years ago. Rewatching these movies all these years later and realizing how funny, entertaining, and well made they still are is not just a pleasure, but also a testament to their lasting value and legacy.

Film 2448 - The Da Vinci Code

Thoughts: I had watched this movie before, but I was never a huge fan of this franchise. If anything, I always preferred the second film. But I have to admit that I enjoyed this rewatch, especially because I didn't remember much of the plot and I'd never seen it in English before.
Obviously, this is one of those movies that, once you've seen it, half of the intrigue is gone. When you rewatch it and remember what happens, it's not as fun as the first time around. That said, it's definitely an ingenious piece of media: all the references to people, places, and facts, how everything is tied up and connected, how it is all part of a much bigger puzzle that eventually leads back to Jesus, religion, and faith.
It's definitely a fun watch once the suspension of disbelief kicks in: there's so much going on, so much that is thrown at you as the audience, that it can be hard to know what's real, what's a theory, and what's just an idea that Dan Brown came up with and added to his story. So yeah, there's definitely a lot to take in—final plot twist included—but for what it is, "The Da Vinci Code" is an extremely entertaining movie, well made and with a great international cast. I'd love to see more Audrey Tautou on my screen, although she hasn't starred in a movie since 2019. Definitely worth giving it a go. It's a bit overstuffed plot-wise, but if you watch it for the first time, it's definitely an entertaining experience.

Christina Aguilera was nominated for Best Female Breakout Star at the MTV Movie Awards, while Cher got an (disgraceful) nomination as Worst Supporting Actress at the Razzies.

Film 2399 - Weapons

Intro: I decided to wait for the Golden Globes nominations to be announced before writing this review because I was curios to see if this movie would actually get the nomination everyone was talking about.

Thoughts: This year, no other horror movie has been this successfull and a performance achieved this level of praise and iconic status since "The Substance" came out last year and Demi Moore was nominated for her first Oscar. Amy Madigan seems to be heading in the same direction (and disappointment?).
To be honest, I don't think she really has a shot at winning - especially considering what happened this year at the Academy Awards - but it's nice to finally see a great performance in the horror genre being recognized and brought front and center of the award season ahead. Madigan and her aunt Gladys are the glue of this film, not to mention the most entertaining part of it.
What I liked about "Weapons" is its dual nature: there's a mystery to be solved that feels very mch grounded into reality and there's the horror movie components that lurk in and elevate the story. Yes, one would have to be fun of the genre to better appreciate the scary moments, but this is still a pretty compelling story and entertaining piece of media.
The cast is on point, the screenplay well written thanks to a very intreaguing premise and, overall, Zach Cregger's latest cinematic effort is one of the best movies we've seen in this otherwise lucklaster 2025.

Intro: I forgot to include this movie in my list of movies to review and I'm including it now!

Thoughts: The experience of watching this movie is a very interesting one for me.
Back in February, I decided to give it a go on a flight from Dublin to Lanzarote, Spain. I wanted something nice and easy to watch on the 4 hour Ryanair journey, something to keep me company, but also wouldn't require too much brain power. And because we were really, REALLY deep into Oscar season, it only made sense to watch one of the nominees. And, to be honest, it was the best decision.
One thing I have to say beforehand is that the journey to Spain was insane. Turblence would get so bad at moments that it would be impossible to hold my laptop on my lap. Considering my second most irrational fear is dying in a plane crash, it's fair to say that it wasn't a pleasant experience. But watching "Flow" definitely helped.
One thing I didn't expect is the complete lack of dialogue. No human interactions - although humans are definitely part of this world considering the amount of man-made items present - just a cat on his journey to... I'm still not sure.
It's a very fascinating movie, it feels kind of magical at times and the story just progresses at its own pace, while the sea level (I guess?) is rising and our cat protagonist is trying to escape it.
There are a lot of wonderful shots in this movie, a lot of creative vision and an aesthetic that is simple, yet extremely effective. All of this, wrapped in a soundtrack that absolutely complements the end result.
I didn't know what to expect when I started this journey - both the cat's from the movie and mine on the plane - but I sure did enjoy it.

Worth a watch?: Definitely. It's an interesting movie and story, well crafted - amid a fairly low budget of €3.5 million - and executed. The absence of dialogue forces you to carefully follow the story, you can't get distracted or you'll miss some detail of the story. It's unusual and it takes a second to get used to it, but it's also so calming at times to just listen to the wind or the sound of the surroundings. Not to mention that there is definitely a very contemporary message being carried by the story: climate change and its effects on the planet.
Awards: Nominated for 2 Oscars for Best International Feature Film and Best Animated Feature Film, it won the latter. 2 BAFTAs nominations (Best Animated Feature Film and Best Children's & Family Film) and 1 Golden Globe win for Best Motion Picture - Animated. The movie also won the César for Best Animated Film and was in competition for the Un Certain Regard Award at Cannes 2024.

Film 2378 - The Last Showgirl

Intro: There was so much excitement around this movie - even a possible Oscar nomination for Lead Actress - that we couldn't miss it. I mean, we missed it at the movies, but caught it in streaming eventually.

Thoughts: Is it Pamela Anderson's best performance on screen? Absolutely. Is "The Last Showgirl" one of the best movies recently made? No, but it's a great comeback vehicle for Anderson and, even just for that, I think is great.
I honestly don't think Pamela Anderson could have found a better movie to reedem herself as an actrees and come back to the scene than "The Last Showgirl": a story about appearence, showbiz, loneliness, and a career in a business that has no mercy for women. All of thise combined together are hard to separate from Anderson's real life story at times, especially knowing what we know about it (too much, indeed). But specifically because we know about her, her past, and what she used to stand for and now stands for instead that "The Last Showgirl" works so well: not only Pamela Anderson gives the best performance of her career - before this movie it didn't necessarily mean much considering her filmografy, to be honest tho - but carries to movie perfectly because it's so easy to identify her with the main character, but she does it in a way that isn't in your face, it works because how understated is her performance at times (which is the very opposite of how her public persona used to be). It works well and she is the movie.
Other characters are there of course - most notably Jamie Lee Curtis is there, another actress that is having quite the resurgence lately - but in a way are less impacful or, to better phrase it, serves Shelly (Anderson) more than anything else.
All in all, a good enough movie. I admit that I was expecting something a bit more 'iconic' (along the line of "The Substance"), but it's a wonderful feeling to see Pamela Anderson leading a movie that is getting rave reviews (and "The Naked Gun" now!).

Worth a watch?: It reminded me "Hustlers" and "Anora" at times, but it's definitely a way quieter movie. Not for everybody, but for those who enjoy arthouse film, definitely a good film to watch.

Thoughts: I really wanted to rewacth it because I remembered I enjoyed it, although I didn't necessarily remember the story in full.
This second watch was fun, I kinda forgot that Awkwafina had her major moment thanks to this movie that launched her into mainstream stardom (though now her popularity has definitely faded a bit due to overexposure), and in general "Crazy Rich Asians" is a very well don romcom.
I think Henry Golding is particularly charming here, more a scene stealer than Constance Wu, who has more female competition to deal with (Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, obviously Awkwafina, but mostly a pre-Oscar Michelle Yeoh) and didn't necessarily pop for me as the lead character.
Overall, 9a very entertaining movie and especially beautiful to look at (I'm actually surprised it didn't get nominated for costumes and set design at the Oscars).

Thoughts: "Babygirl" is one of those movies that is all about sex, but not sexy or sensual. So you're watching a film about people having sex, about BDSM, sexual tension, control, but it never really gets you there. You see it, but you don't feel it. And it's a bit strange considering how much it revolves around these themes.
That said, it's not a bad movie, I actually enjoyed it enough. Nicole Kidman gives a brave performance - I like that choses to work with a female director at least once a year - and Harris Dickinson should definitely be a bigger star by now. In a way, he is the movie.
Ps. I know it's silly, but once you notice how big Nicole Kidmsna's earlobe are, you can't unsee it. For the rest of the movie.

Thoughts: personally, I love this movie. I find it extremely funny, both in English and Italian (which is very rare considering not all the jockes necessarily translate well into Italian usually).
I think Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham and Rose Byrne do a great job here, bringing their A game to a movie that could have been either a potential meh or completely bad; instead "Spy" is funny and refreshing every time I watch it again. I still remember the first time I watched it at the movie, I thought this movie was hilarious.
So, every now and then, when I feel like watching something funny and lighthearted, I go back to "Spy" and enjoy myself.

Film 2338 - Queer

Intro: Always excited to watch one of Luca Guadagnino's movies, especially when the story centers around queer characters.

Thoughts: God I didn't like this movie.
Although I read very (and various) favorable reviews online, I have to admit that for me "Queer" was a drag. The story didn't resonate with me at all and i couldn't wait for it to be over, especially the second half of it. Once we hit the jungle looking for the mysterios telepathic plant this movie lost me. But let's not get ahead of ourselves...
Three things I particularly liked about "Queer": Daniel Craig's performance - which is great throughout, the craftmenship of this production (cinematography, score, art design and set decoration) and that, for once, Luca Guadagnino is finally centering a gay story around the man's body. On the latter, I noticed that Guadagnino tends to 'hide' the male body in a way that doesn't apply when it comes to the female one: particularly, in "Call Me By Your Name" he shows a naked woman in the film, but he refused to show the two leads naked and stated "that it was a conscious aesthetic decision" (more on this topic on this article by Variety). Also, I found "Challengers" to be a bit on the queerbaiting side of things.
That said, I appreciated this time around there was no hiding behind an aesthetic decision.
For the rest, I've found "Queer" extremely long (137 min) and suprisingly uneventful considering that we even venture to the jungle. This part specifically reminded me of the movie "The Lost City of Z", where the slow pacing and lack of major events resurfaced memories of Martin Scorsese's "Silence", tho I liked that one better.
All in all, considering how eger I was to watch this movie, I can't say I wasn't disappointed: it's too long and too slow and the second half of the story is too crazy and detached from the first half for my taste. No disrespect to the 1985 novella by William S. Burroughs from which the movie is based on as I haven't read it, but this is definitely not my cup of tea.

Box Office: $3.9 million
Worth a watch?: I wouldn't reccommend it. The pacing is slow and the story takes a crazy turn towards half the running time and it goes bonkers for a good while. If you're fan of William S. Burroughs's work you could give it a go, but embrace yourself for a long watch.

Film 2337 - Emilia Pérez

Intro: After all the award buzz this movie was getting, before Christmas I decided to give it a go.

Thoughts: It has been a while since I watched it and, funny enough, "Emilia Pérez" is now gaining a bad reputation after its multiple wins at the Golden Globes last Sunday.
For a (long) moment, it seemed like nothing could stop this movie: it won a Cannes for Best Actress and was getting nominated (and winning) everywhere, especially the performance of it cast, particularly Zoe Saldaña. But something has shifted after the Globes - the first televised award ceremony of the year, people have started watching either the movie on Netflix or the clips on TikTok and this is where things went south. Especially after "Emilia Pérez", a musical, has beaten "Wicked", another musical, in the movie of the year category.
So here's the thing: I watched this movie in Spanish, I read the lyrics of the songs and I paid attention, because I felt this movie was going to play a big part at the Oscar this year. So it had my full attention. And I can say two things: "Emilia Pérez" is not as bad as they're trying to paint it now, but it isn't the greatest movie ever made either (needless to say).
I applaud the idea of a musical about a man from the Mexican cartel transitioning and the portray of the struggle that comes with it, I think it's a different idea and the movie has it's moments. I particularly apprecciated and admired Zoe Saldaña's performance: a few minutes into the movie and I was ready to bet on her for the Supporting Actress Oscar win. (I really do think she has it in the bag.)
That said, yes, I did struggle a bit with this watch. The movie is very long (132 min) and none of the songs is a hit, really. There are a few interesting ones also visually speaking, but no song stuck with me and, on the contrary, I felt some of the performances from the supporting cast were actually really bad vocally. I understand that they didn't chose professional singers (Selena Gomez aside, and she does a decent enough job here to be fair - and yeah, her Spanish is bad, but what did you expect?), but the end result is sometimes jarring.
So, although I appreciated some bits of this movie, "Emilia Pérez" is definitely not my favourite movie of the year. Its cast does a great job and I was captured by Karla Sofía Gascón's performance (not in the lead category tho, I'd say more supporting, where Saldaña is really in the lead here, but anyway), some of the visuals and its themes (although some are critizing the stereotypical portraayl of Mexica culture) but other than Saldaña, I wouldn't give this movie any other award.

Worth a watch?: Definitely not a movie for everybody. It's a long musical in Spanish about violence, abuse, transitioning and many other heavy themes that could scare some people away. If you're interested in the controversy stemmed from the Golden Globes, then I would reccomend watching this movie and make an opinion for yourself, rather than just watching a few clips online out of context. Otherwise, if you don't care or you're not necessarily connecting with "Emilia Pérez'" themes, I would skip this watch.
Awards: Nominated to 10 Golden Globes, the movie won 4 awards for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, Best Supporting Actress (Saldaña), Best Motion Picture Non-English Language, and Best Original Song (for "El Mal"). Currently, the movie is also nominated to 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role (Gascón) and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (Saldaña).
At Cannes 2024, the movie won for Best Actress (Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz), the Jury Prize and the Soundtrack Award for Best Composer (Camille, Clément Ducol).

Film 2334 - Conclave

Intro: Before I went to Boston, I asked Niamh and Debbi to wait until I got back to go and see this movie together. When in Salem, though, I broke my own promise and went to the movies and watched it with Bizzy (because, to be fair, there wasn't much else to do on a Monday night). So, when I got back to Dublin a week later, I went to see this movie again without telling the girls I've watched it already until the end of the show.

Briefly: I'm glad I saw this movie twice already because this second view felt a bit different than the first one.
Firstly, because the movie we watched in Salem had subtitles (as it was a video-described show), I admit I was a bit distracted by the text. Basically I was checking how the trasnaltion in Italian and Spanish was handled, if it made sense and was correct, but also reading the subtitles in English because when it's there on the big screen it's really hard to ignore it. This not to say that I didn't pay attention to the movie or the actors' work, but I was definitely paying less attention than usual. On a positive note, though, I didn't miss a bit of the story. (Usually, for example, I don't remember any character's name...)
That said, watching "Conclave" for a second time - and especially so soon after the first viewing - was a different experience because I knew the twists and turns of the story, so I could focus more on the actors this time. I'll be honest, I still think Isabella Rossellini gave a wonderful performance, not worthy of an Oscar nomination though. Again, not because she wasn't good, she's actually amazing in the movie, but because her part isn't big enough and doesn't have that "wow" moment, that scene that really has an impact on the viewers and stays with them even after the movie has coe to an end. She has one powerful scene and she definitely steals that moment from everyone else, but that happens literally for 30 seconds, than she disappears again. We'll see if the Academy rewards her - and if it happens I'll be ecstatic - yet I think it'd be very similar to what happened to Jamie Lee Curtis' Oscar win for "Everything Everywhere All at Once" or Keira Knightley's 2nd Oscar nomination for "The Imitation Game": the nomination comes with the movie. What I mean that the movie gets nominated in so many categories and it's so popular with Academy members that the supporting actress nom has a bigger shot at getting recognized. Because, let's be honest here, I'm glad Jamie Lee Curtis is an Oscar winner, but do we really thing she'd been nominated or even won if her movie didn't do so good on Oscars' night?
Anyway, Isabella Rossellini does a great job in the movie and I'm glad she's finally getting recognized by international awards bodies. And I'm also extremely happy that Ralph Finnes is back as a possible Oscar contender after many years of great performances but no recognition (his 2 Oscar nominations come from the 90s): his take on Cardinal Lawrence is exceptional and shows once again what an amazing actor he is. I really do think he has a shot at a possible Oscar win, althought I'm sure Timothée Chalamet will give him a run for his money in "A Complete Unknown".
Great performances aside, watching "Conclave" a second time really convinced me that this is one of the best movies of 2024. It has great actors, the story is smart and has numerous plot twists, Edward Berger's direction and vision is amazing and visually powerful, the soundtrack from Volker Bertelmann is so powerful and tense, and the movie overall presents a great story, a wonderfully written thriller that is both incredibily tense and stunningly beautiful. I'm still not a huge fan of the final plot twist, but I admit the second time around didn't bother me as much as the first time. (I still think it has a shock-value "effect" that is a bit out of place in this story, but it probably comes from Robert Harris' book and so the screenplay honours the sorce material here.)
"Conclave" is a great movie that presents a powerful story about faith, religion and doubt that goes hand in hand with politics and people's greed. Powerful.

Intro: Sarò totalmente onesto, non avevo alcuna voglia di vedere questo film. Le ragazze però - e Niamh specialmente - volevano andare e, così, mi sono lasciato convincere.

In sintesi: il musical lo avevo visto a Londra anni fa, per cui ero vagamente familiare con storia e personaggi. Per capirci, sapevo che si trattasse della storia pre Mago di Oz, sapevo chi fossero la Perfida Strega dell'Ovest e la Buona Strega del Nord, conoscevo "Defying Gravity", ma non ricordavo altro. E forse è stato meglio così.
La zero voglia di vedere il film sommata alle quasi nulle aspettative e un generale disinteresse ultimamente nei confronti dei musical, parevano presagire due ore e mezza di noia totale e, invece, ammetto di aver gradito "Wicked" molto, molto più di quanto mi aspettassi. È il mio film preferito? No, ma è stato certamente una sopresa in positivo.
Se non avevo alcun dubbio che Cynthia Erivo avrebbe fatto un egregio lavoro - ricordo ancora quanto mi avesse colpito la sua performance live agli Oscar 2020 della canzone "Stand Up" del film "Harriet" per cui era candidata sia per Miglior attrice protagonista che per Miglior canzone originale - ammetto che qualche riserva su Ariana Grande ce la avessi. E wow sono rimasto impressionato.
Perché per quanto spettacolare sia Erivo, ammetto che per me la vera sorpresa e scene-stealer di questo film sia proprio Ariana Grande. Non solo canta anche lei magnificamente (e fino qui...), ma è anche perfetta per il ruolo di Glinda, che interepata con inaspettato humor. Davvero, Grande è il comic relief della storia, nonché la mia parte preferita di questo "Wicked" cinematografico.
Per il resto il film funziona bene, le canzoni intrattengono (anche se durante un paio ho sonnecchiato, lo ammetto), lo spettacolo visivo è ben realizzato, il tono del film azzeccato. Mi è sembrato che, in generale, questa prima parte del musical sia stata realizzata in maniera intelligente. Vedremo come andrà con il secondo capitolo in uscita il 21 novembre 2025.
Uniche note negative: non credo fosse necessario far cantare Michelle Yeoh che ha infiniti altri talenti, ma non quello del canto; ho trovato il personaggio di Bowen Yang inutile e interpretato un po' a suon di cliché (o per meglio dire un po' come Bowen Yang interpreta solitamente questi ruoli); in generale 160 minuti di durata sono troppi, specialmente considerato che l'inero musical di Broadway dura 2 ore e 45 minuti...

Vale o non vale: I fan dell'originale di Broadway andranno in brodo di giuggiole: Cynthia Erivo e Ariana Grande cantano live e cantano divinamente, il film funziona, è visivamente stimolante e intrigante (anche se alcuni hanno criticato una mancanza di vivacità nei colori; io questa sensazione non ce l'ho avuta), le canzoni sono un cult. Per tutti gli altri, tenere presente che il musical dura 2 ore e mezza e che, appunto, è un musical, quindi ci sono un sacco di canzoni (non come "Moulin Rouge!", però, dove non c'è dialogo). A parte questo, get ready to hold space for "Defying Gravity"!
Premi: Ad oggi, il film è stato candidato a 4 Golden Globes nella categoria musical/commedia per Miglior film, attrice protagonista (Erivo), attrice non protagonista (Grande) e la nuova categoria istituita l'anno scorso per Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

Film 2293 - Who's That Girl

Intro: Una pellicola che non pensavo avrei mai recuperato, ma Michael ha il dvd ed è un mega fan di Madonna, quindi perché no?

In sintesi: non sono partito assolutamente prevenuto e, anzi, mi aspettavo avrei gradito la visione. invece ho trovato questo "Who's That Girl" indigesto.
Due aspetti in particolare non ho gradito: il personaggio interpretato da Madonna e tutto il susseguirsi di imprevisti raccontato dalla storia. Ma andiamo per ordine.
Madonna. Premesso che non ho mai pensato fosse un'attrice così tremenda come l'hanno descritta negli anni (forse in "The Next Best Thing", ma non in generale diciamo), devo dire che qui il suo personaggio - o come l'ha interpretato - mi ha dato davvero sui nervi. Mi rendo conto che rendere Nikki Finn seccante ed irritante (soprattutto all'inizio della storia) fosse intenzionale, specialmente in contrasto con la seconda parte della trama in cui i due protagonisti ovviamente si innamorano, però ho davvero faticato a tollerarla. Anche solo la voce mi dava sui nervi.
In combinazione con questo primo aspetto, il fatto che la sceneggiatura sia concentrata su questa serie di (chiamiamoli) equivoci tutti causati da Nikki e che quest'ultima sia per la maggior parte del tempo insopportabile, di fatto per me ha rovinato tutto il film.
Ora, non voglio dire che ho odiato "Who's That Girl", questo no, e ho assolutamente visto di peggio, ma non mi aspettavo avrei così tanto faticato a digerire il personaggio interpretato da Madonna. Intorno a lei, poi, il caos: c'è un puma tra i personaggi principali, una foresta amazzonica su un tetto di New York, arresti, armi, incidenti in macchina, un matrimonio da organizzare e un'innocente da salvare (già, proprio il peronsaggio di Madonna). Insomma, un calderone di elementi che ho trovato estremamente caotico e difficile da digerire, per un risultato finale quasi da mal di testa.

Vale o non vale: I fan di Madonna sicuramente avranno visto e rivisto questo film, che negli anni si è aggiudicato addirittura lo status di cult. Personalmente non ho gradito granché, quindi non mi sendo di caldeggiare una visione. La colonna sonora però, quella sì che è un cult!
Premi: Candidato al Golden Globe per Miglior canzone originale ("Who's That Girl") e al Grammy per Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television. 5 candidature ai Razzie Awards per peggior film, regia, sceneggiatura, canzone ("El Coco Loco (So, So Bad)") e una vittoria per la peggior attrice (Madonna).
