Intro: Molto, molto curioso di vedere questo film, soprattutto considerate le critiche entusiaste e il grande successo di pubblico. E dire che a questo titolo non volevo dare nemmeno una chance tanto ero disinteressato all'inizio...

In sintesi: divertente e divertito, un film sui supereroi che ne porta in campo talmente tanti che è sinceramente difficile a tratti starci dietro. Spider-man e tutta la combricola di Spider-man dei vari mondi alternativi sono un gruppo eterogeneo di personaggi che aiuta a dare al pubblico (e agli studios) un nuovo esempio di come sia possibile combinare svariati stili e approcci al mondo dei fumetti risultando comunque vincenti. Gli elementi chiave ci sono tutti: un nemico, il percorso di formazione, avventura e azione, amore e affetti, disillusione e percorso di formazione, effetti speciali a valanga; allo stesso tempo, in questo caso, una visione e realizzazione particolarmente accattivanti e dinamiche, nonché un approccio alla storia più fresco, fanno di questo "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" un prodotto moderno e interessante, piacevolissimo da seguire. Il che si riassume perfettamente nelle parole di un anonimo votante degli Academy Awards che, l'anno scorso, disse la sua in riferimento alle preferenze da lui espresse per l'edizione 2019, asserendo che mai si sarebbe aspettato di votare a favore di una pellicola sui supereroi, su Spider-man, affinché vincesse in una qualsiasi categoria in gara. Film 1727 - Mary Queen of Scots

Intro: Sinceramente non vedevo l'ora di vederlo, sia perché la storia della famiglia reale britannica mi affascina tantissimo, sia perché le due grandi protagoniste presenti promettevano scintille.

In sintesi: avevo grandissime aspettative per questa pellicola, tutte onestamente disattese. Non che non ci fossero le carte in regola per un potenzialmente interessante e ben realizzato prodotto cinematografico, ma la realtà è che questo "Mary Queen of Scots" non funziona a livello di trama e lascia lo spettatore poco interessato alla vicenda originale, anche considerate le svariate inesattezze storiche raccontate (Maria Stuarda ed Elisabetta I non si incontrarono mai).
Al di là di questo, comunque, mi è parso un prodotto poco ispirato, nonostante i bellissimi costumi e le due grandi attrici coinvolte. Insomma, si poteva fare di più (vedi "Elizabeth") e molto meglio. Peccato per l'occasione persa.

Vale o non vale: Nonostante le aspettative, il film non riesce a veicolare quella grandezza e magnificenza, nonché il mistero che si celano dietro a questa storia di potere e famiglia. Certamente non il miglior titolo sull'argomento, anche se visivamente questa pellicola ha il suo perché.
Premi: Candidato a 2 Oscar (Migliori costumi e make up) e 3 BAFTA (Miglior attrice non protagonista per Robbie, costumi e make up).

Intro: Ultimo film visto in aereo prima di atterrare, nuovamente, in Nuova Zelanda. E non poteva che essere una pellicola candidata agli imminenti Oscar!

In sintesi: non posso dire di aver amato questa pellicola, anche se bisogna ammettere che presenta una storia piuttosto intrigante. L'amicizia collerosa tra Lee Israel e Jack Hock è un cuore della storia pulsante e ben costruito, i due attori principali regalano performance perfette e la storia (spoiler, da Wiki: Dopo essere caduta in disgrazia, per pagare l'affitto la biografa Lee Israel decide di contraffare delle lettere di alcuni scrittori e di varie celebrità decedute. Quando le falsificazioni cominciano a sollevare dei sospetti, decide di rubare le vere lettere dagli archivi delle biblioteche e di venderle attraverso un ex detenuto incontrato in un bar, mentre l'FBI è in procinto di fermare la truffa) non manca di catturare l'attenzione dello spettatore. Eppure, a pellicola finita, la sensazione non è totalmente positiva, fosse anche solo per la rancorosa attitudine della protagonista o la costante pesantezza della fotografia. Insomma, una storia vera che ha dell'incredibile tradotta in un film che lascia una certa pesantezza.

Vale o non vale: Onestamente non lo rivedrei. Al di là delle buone interpretazioni del cast e della surreale vicenda raccontata, "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" mi ha lasciato con l'amaro in bocca. Ho apprezzato che McCarthy si sia messa in gioco con un ruolo così complesso - uscendone vincente -, anche se credo che la vera sorpresa di questo titolo sia la vincente interpretazione di Richard E. Grant.
