BAFTA 2015: nomination e vincitori

Oggi era anche il giorno dell'annuncio delle candidature ufficiali ai BAFTA 2015, ovvero quelli che sono considerati gli Oscar britannici.

Giunti alla loro 68esima edizione, questi premi sono solitamente vicini agli Academy Awards anche per le cinquine principali come Miglior film, regia e attori, anche se di fatto tendono sempre ad essere più filobritannici, nonostante anche qui lo strapotere delle produzioni USA sia evidente. Ne è segno evidente che i BAFTA conferiscano premiazioni a parte per categorie specifiche come Miglior film britannico o Miglior debutto di un regista, sceneggiatore o produttore britannico. Insomma, la lingua è più o meno la stessa, ma anche l'orgoglio patrio vuole la sua parte.
La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà l'8 febbraio al Royal Opera House di Londra presentata anche quest'anno da Stephen Fry, alla sua decima esperienza di conduttore dell'evento.

Critics' Choice Awards 2015: nomination e vincitori

Pensavamo tutti che con i Golden Globe e le nomination sfornate neanche 7 giorni fa fosse finita? Beh, ci sbagliavamo di grosso.
Più che la stagione dei premi sembra la gara a chi arriva primo a snocciolare le sue cinquine, comunque tant'è, non ci possiamo fare nulla: i Critics' Choice Awards 2015 sono tra noi con una valanga di nuove nomination per decretare i migliori tra i migliori dell'anno (2014, ma anche 2015 visto che delle pellicole devono ancora uscire. E non parlo dell'Italia).

Nell'attesa, come ribadito più volte, delle nomination agli Oscar, in arrivo tra un mese, ci crogioliamo in questa baraonda da decreto assoluto, in questa schizofrenica necessità di sancire il migliore dell'anno. Lo sappiamo tutti che poi solo gli Academy Awards avranno un peso a livello di immagine e vendite, ma hey!, un premio in più non può mica farci male.
I vincitori saranno annunciati venerdì 16 gennaio 2015.

Golden Globe Awards 2015: nomination e vincitori

E finalmente si comincia a parlare di cose serie!
Con l'annuncio delle numerose cinquine cinematografiche e televisive dei Golden Globes, direi che per il 2014 abbiamo concluso. La prossima tappa, ancora prima delle nomination agli Oscar, sarà l'evento dei Golden Globes stessi che si terrà l'11 gennaio 2015 decretando, così, finita la stagione dei premi per la tv e apertissima quella, invece, del cinema che tra gennaio e febbraio darà il meglio di sé.

In attesa della concatenazione sistematica di tappeti rossi e premi di svariata natura e fattezza, ecco tutte le nomination dei 72esimi Golden Globe Awards, caratterizzati dalla curiosa presenza di numerosi doppioni (Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo e Bill Murray), l'ennesima nomination per Meryl Streep, scelte musicali decisamente commericali (Sia, Lana del Rey, Lorde, John Legend) e un buon numero di titoli indi-indipendenti a farla da padrone. Io punto su "Boyhood" e "Birdman", incrocio le dita per Amy Adams (ma più per l'Oscar a dire il vero) anche se credo che sia ora di far vincere qualcosa a Julianne Moore e ritengo che "The Imitation Game" abbia del potenziale in quanto a accaparra-premi. Vedremo cosa sentenzierà la stagione degli 'awards', ormai ufficialmente cominciata.

Prima ancora che gli Oscar ci dicano la loro, anche solo su ciò che considerano i 5 migliori, prima ancora che gli altri premi ci dicano quali sono i loro vincitori, stanotte si sono tenuti i Golden Globes che hanno decretato la vittoria di un sacco di titoli e star.
Essendo numerose le categorie è piuttosto facile vedersi riconoscere il premio nell'arco della propria carriera, sicuramente più facile che vincere un Academy Award: per esempio, per un attore, dove agli Oscar le chance per essere solo candidati in un anno sono 2 per genere, ai Golden Globes - tra cinema e tv - le categorie attoriali sono 7. E' evidente, quindi, che il livello di esclusività dei due premi è nettamente differente.

In ogni caso ho sinceramente apprezzato le scelte premiate quest'anno, specialmente nelle categorie televisive che, anche se hanno snobbato "True Detective" in toto, hanno comunque suggerito scelte meno commerciali o prevedibili di quanto mi sarei aspettato (Joanne Froggatt, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Billy Bob Thornton, Jeffrey Tambor, Ruth Wilson, ma anche Patricia Arquette e J.K. Simmons).
Per quanto riguarda lo show, invece, non sono rimasto particolarmente colpito. Dall'ultima cerimonia condotta dal magico duo Amy Poehler e Tina Fey mi aspettavo il botto, un'esplosione di adrenalina comica e irriverente che, invece, mi pare non ci sia stata. Paradossalmente Ricky Gervais, che ha preceduto le due conduttrici come presentatore dell'evento per due anni di fila, è stato più tagliente nel suo brevissimo intervento nel ruolo di annunciatore di una categoria, davvero dissacrante. Le due comiche hanno scelto di puntare moltissimo sulla Corea del Nord e l'attacco alla Sony, addirittura presentando uan versione fittizia di una militare nordcoreana interpretata da Margaret Cho. Ho gradito solo a metà, nel senso che esaurita la carica scandalosa della cosa il personaggio in sé non aveva molto da dire. Come non mi è parso particolarmente efficace usare 5 minuto di monologo per prendere in giro Bill Cosby: come per la questione precedente, esaurito il momento scioccante dovuto all'argomento scandaloso (Cosby è accusato di aver abusato di numerose donne), non era necessario continuare perché la gag in sé non mi è sembrata particolarmente divertente.
In defintiva questi 72esimi Golden Globes sono stati al solito carini, giustamente patinati e prevedibilmente prolissi, anche se non sono davvero riusciti a coinvolgere lo spettatore nello spettacolo che ha scelto di guardare: tutto di fretta, un gran casino tra attori, categorie impronunciabili, discorsi di ringraziamento interminabilmente poco interessanti e mai un secondo per prendersi un respiro, una pausa. Credo che inserire qualche attimo musicale, un momento per celebrare i nomi di chi è scomparso (che solitamente c'era, quest'anno non si sa perché no), avrebbe aiutato a rendere più fluido un evento che risulta strangolato dal suo stesso meccanismo e la spasmodica necessità di premiare chiunque per qualunque aspetto in ogni produzione (ma poi mancando di distinguere tra sceneggiatura originale e non o di premiare la regia nel contesto televisivo). Ah, ed eviterei di destinare tanto spazio al conferimento di un premio alla carriera di cui francamente frega poco a tutti - senza offesa per George Clooney che quest'anno se lo è aggiudicato (ma poi: perché?) -.
Quindi, se vi siete persi l'evento e non desiderate recuperarlo, bruciate subito la suspense leggendo chi effettivamente ha vinto tra prevedibilità (Julianne Moore, Amy Adams che si aggiudica il secondo premio in due anni, "Boyhood" pigliatutto, Michael Keaton) e qualche felice sorpresa. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015: nomination e vincitori

E così si ricomincia con le premiazioni.

La ruota gira ed ecco che i primi nuovi - e non - nomi di star e titoli che contano fanno capolino per quelle che sono le penultime nomination importanti dell'anno, ma che già coinvolgono la prossima stagione.
Annunciati oggi da Ansel Elgort e Eva Longoria, questi Screen Actors Guild Awards (i premi decretati dagli attori stessi e che, quindi, non comprendono categorie tecniche come regia e sceneggiatura) si terranno il 25 gennaio, subito dopo i Golden Globe che saranno invece l'11 (ai quali mancano però le nomination annunciate domani). Per gli Oscar, invece, bisognerà attendere ancora un po': candidature il 15 gennaio e cerimonia che si terrà, invece, il 22 febbraio 2015.
Più che da queste cinquine sarà dall'annuncio di domani che potranno cominciare a delinearsi i probabili futuri nuovi Oscar-papabili, ma hey, intanto godiamoci questo succoso antipasto!
E allora che la stagione dei premi 2015 abbia inizio...!
