Film 2164 - M3GAN

Intro: Torniamo al cinema per recuperare il fenomeno del momento. Mai in Irlanda mi era capitato di dover fare la fila per vedere un film, nemmeno per il sequel di "Avatar". Ci è riuscito il film su una bambola assassina...

In sintesi: non sono certo schizzinoso quando si tratta di nuovi film da vedere e sono assolutamente aperto ad ogni tipo di esperienza cinematografica e devo dire che visto tutto l'entusiamo ed interesse mediatico che questa pellicola è riuscita a catalizzare, le mie aspettative fossero particolarmente alte. Tra clip del film sparpagliate per tutti i miei social media, articoli di giornale e recensioni entuasiaste, pareva che "M3GAN" fosse già il film dell'anno (a 2023 nemmeno cominciato, tra l'altro). Diciamo che, nonsotante sia godibile e per certi versi - o meglio dire, certe scene - iconico, questo film non mi abbia lasciato a bocca aperta.
La componente horror è a malapena accennata e, di fatto, la storia ricorda quasi più un "Attrazione fatale" in versione bambola giocattolo. E non ci sarebbe niente di male onestamente, non fosse che tutto l'hype creato a livello mediatico mi avesse fatto credere in una sorta di rivoluzione del genere di paura.
Non mi è parso, onestamente, ci fosse alcunché di così innovativo da giustificare il sensazionale successo riscosso da questo prodotto in termini di pubblico e critica. Forse ho trovato l'esperienza ancora più straniante nel momento in cui tutta la sala - gremita, abbiamo faticato a trovare i biglietti! - rideva sguiatamente a battute simpatiche o, addirittura, durante passaggi palesemente non divertenti. E non che si ridesse del film, ma proprio col film.
Detto questo, ribadisco che ho trovato "M3GAN" divertente nel suo essere consapevolmente una boiata e assolutamente godibile, ma davvero niente di più.

Vale o non vale: Dell'orrore ma non di paura, serioso ma non serio, "M3GAN" è il titolo perfetto per iniziare l'anno cinematografico senza pretese, ma con un'onesta dose di intrattenimento. Non per tutti i gusti, ma per chi apprezza il genere (o le sue declinazioni, specialmente in chiave moderna) il divertimento è assicurato.
