MTV Movie & TV Awards 2017: nomination e vincitori

Film e tv, uomini e donne tutti mixati e frullati assieme e via: questi sono i nuovi premi di Mtv dedicati all'intrattenimento video (non musicale)! Un po' caotici a dire il vero, ma mi pare distintivo che la rete sia stata nuovamente capace di distinguersi per scelte fuori dal coro dopo tanti anni di piatto uniformarsi.
Lo show si terrà domenica 7 maggio e a presentare ci sarà Adam DeVine, tra l'altro candidato nella categoria Best Comedic Performance.

Film 714 - That Awkward Moment

Sembrava una commedia carina.

Film 714: "That Awkward Moment" (2014) di Tom Gormican

Pensieri: Non è che la si può definire esattamente come commedia, in quanto ci sono certi snodi della trama sinceramente anche molto tristi, né si può dire che, effettivamente, prenda di mira con successo quell'"imbarazzante momento" di cui parla il titolo. Ovvero, le premesse ci sono anche e i 3 ragazzi, che teoricamente vogliono rimanere single per evitare l'imbarazzo di dover definire qualunque tipo di relazione, in principio espongono le loro ragioni in maniera abbastanza efficace tenendo fede alle premesse. Ma basta proseguire di poco che subito la trama del film vira inaspettatamente proprio nella più inaspettata delle direzioni: sia Jason che Daniel che Mikey (rispettivamente Zac Efron, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jorda) trovano - o capiscono di avere già - la donna della loro vita. E basta, il film prosegue per questa strana.
Quindi, dove mi aspettavo di trovare toni irriverenti e dissacranti, per quanto certo non manchino, ho aggiuntivamente trovato moltissimo romanticismo e qualche tono drammatico.
Nel suo insieme "That Awkward Moment" è comunque il tipo di prodotto che mi aspettavo di vedere, ripieno di un'analisi dei protagonisti abbastanza stereotipata - ognuno ha un carattere assolutamente diverso dagli altri - nonché a tratti banale e un po' già vista (qui le donne portano i pantaloni e i ragazzi giurano "fedeltà" alla figa e alle feste, finendo nonostante i propositi d'indipendenza, per risultare i più immaturi), ma in ogni caso la buona presenza scenica del cast e la bella cornice newyorkese riescono a salvare (anzi, sviare l'attenzione dal)la trama.
E' un esperimento, quindi, riuscito a metà che ha la pecca di tradire il suo diktat fondamentale a neanche mezzora dall'inizio del film, cambiando le carte in tavola e riallestendo una storia fino a quel momento a base di amicizia testosteronica, sesso, bravate e rimorchio per trasformarla in una commedia romantica del vero amore il cui unico momento veramente esilarante è quello in cui Zac Efron si presenta con un dildo chilometrico alla festa di compleanno di Ellie/Imogen Poots. Lì si ride davvero, mentre per il resto la storia si segue senza troppe emozioni.
Ps. Zac Efron vince l'assolutamente meritato MTV Movie Award 2014 per Best Shirtless Performance.
Box Office: $53,068,955
Consigli: E' un prodotto buono nell'ottica del momento di disimpegno e distrazione. Buon cast e trio principale veramente in ottima forma, con uno Zac Efron lanciatissimo e qui solo da antipasto rispetto al super successo di questi giorni, "Neighbors" (49 milioni di dollari d'incasso al primo weekend e posizione #1 rubata a "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"). Si può vedere e farsi pure qualche risata.

MTV Movie Awards 2014: nomination e vincitori

E quando sembrava che la stagione delle premiazioni cinematografiche si fosse ormai conclusa, ecco che un altro premio abbastanza importante riporta le produzioni 2013 nuovamente alla ribalta. Sono appena uscite, infatti, le nomination degli MTV Movie Awards!

La cerimonia, che si terrà domenica 13 aprile presso il Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles, in California, sarà presentata per la prima volta da Conan O'Brien.
Tra i tanti candidati, moltissimi tra gli stessi che erano in lizza per l'Oscar o che l'hanno vinto, anche se sorprende un pochino trovare una sola candidatura per "Gravity" (che di statuette dorate ne ha vinte 7 e al botteghino è oltre i 700 milioni di dollari d'incasso) e proprio nessuna per "Frozen" (2 Oscar e un botteghino che tocca il miliardo di dollari). Ma ecco tutta la lista dei candidati di quest'anno!

MTV Movie Award 2012: i vincitori

Con un po' di ritardo riferisco dei recenti MTV Movie Awards che, il 3 giugno, hanno premiato quelli che secondo Mtv sono stati i titoli e i personaggi della stagione passata. Se, da Londra dove mi trovavo, l'evento non ha avuto alcuna eco che mi abbia raggiunto, al rientro in Italia ho trovato numerose informazioni a riguardo. Con 4 premi sale sul podio "Hunger Games" che perde, però, nella categoria Miglior film contro "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parte 1" (2 premi, finalmente la saga è in declino). Anche "Harry Potter e i doni della morte – Parte 2" e "Le amiche della sposa" si aggiudicano 2 vincite, mentre "Come ammazzare il capo… e vivere felici", "21 Jump Street" e "Paradiso amaro" una. Quest'ultima pellicola, poi, colpisce perchè batte titoli potenti come "Super 8", "Le amiche della sposa" e "Hunger Games" nella categoria Performance d'esordio grazie all'interpretazione di Shailene Woodley, famosa per "La vita segreta di una teenager americana" (popolare telefilm proprio di Mtv).
Infine, come ipotizzato nel post "MTV Movie Award 2012: le nominations", non è stata Bryce Dallas Howard a vincere nella categoria Miglior Performance Torcibudella per "The Help" come segnalava erroneamente IMDb, ma il cast de "Le amiche della sposa". Evidentemente la segnalazione era semplicemente una svista.

MTV Movie Award 2012: le nominations

Il 3 giugno presso il Gibson Amphitheatre di Los Angeles si terranno, a 20 anni dall'esordio della manifestazione, gli MTV Movie Awards presentati dall'ex marito di Katy Perry, Russell Brand.
I premi di Mtv, piuttosto popolari in America, eleggono solitamente quelle produzioni commerciali di grande richiamo per il pubblico permettendo a quest'ultimo, tra l'altro, di votare i nominati. Ecco, quindi, che sbucano categorie improbabili come Best On-Screen Dirtbag, Best Gut-Wrenching Performance o Best On-Screen Transformation che colpiscono facilmente l'immaginario dello spettatore medio o teen made in USA.
Grandi vincitori nelle scorse edizioni, Kristen Stewart e Robert Pattinson quest'anno concorrono solamente per la categoria Miglior bacio, simbolo forte di un certo cambiamento di costume (alias Edward & Bella ci avete sfiancato). Grandi protagonisti sono, invece, film come "Hunger Games", "Harry Potter e i doni della morte: Parte 2", "The Help", "Le amiche della sposa" e "21 Jump Street".

Tra meno di un mese la cerimonia di premiazione ci dirà, tra una gag e un red carpet, chi saranno i veri trionfatori dell'edizione di quest'anno.
