Film 2025 - Nobody

Intro: A inizio anno al top del box-office americano, ero sinceramente curioso di capire se si trattasse effettivamente di una pellicola interessante.

In sintesi: il genere action non mi dispiace, anche se non posso professarmi fan accanito, per cui mi sono approcciato a questa pellicola con una certa cautela, diciamo. Il primo "Taken", per esempio, non mi era per niente dispiaciuto, ma la violenza spropositata della saga di "John Wick" mi aveva lasciato un po' perplesso.
Questo "nobody" in un certo senso è una via di mezzo, se non forse proprio un prodotto più a sé, più spiritoso e divertito, estremamente supportato da un montaggio che è parte della storia, per un risultato finale violentissimo che, però, appare meno pesante di altri titoli simili (vedi sopra, appunto). Bob Odenkirk, poi, è un grandissimo protagonista: chi se lo sarebbe mai aspettato? Non tanto da un punto di vista recitativo, per cairtà, ma più che altro perché non parebbe avere il physique du rôle adatto al ruolo. E invece da solo traina tutta la baracca. Bravo.
Insomma, "Nobody" è inaspettatamente un buon prodotto che riesce grazie a una connotazione personale spiccata a risaltare rispetto alla massa di produzioni simili a cui il mainstream ci ha ampiamente abituato. Violentissimo e noncurante della distruzione e morte che lascia dietro di sé, questo film picchia duro dove conta: la narrazione, le botte e un protagonista che rimane impresso. Nonostante non sia nessuno.

Vale o non vale: Violento, montato a regola d'arte e con un Bob Odenkirk in grandissima forma (fisica), "Nobody" non è certo una pellicola per tutti, ma è decisamente uno spasso da seguire. Basta non concentrarsi troppo sulle innumerevoli morti e la generale devastazione di proprietà.

Film 1791 - Long Shot

Intro: Incuriosito dalle buone critiche e la coppia di protagonisti assortita in modo interessante, ho scelto di vedere questa commedia alla ricerca di qualcosa di piacevole e interessante.

In sintesi: diciamoci la verità, questo "Long Shot" non è proprio niente di che e, anzi, visto tutto l'hype creato attraverso una promozione del film che passa attraverso la citazione di tutte le critiche positive ottenute da questa pellicola, direi che il risultato finale è abbastanza deludente.
Come direbbe saggiamente Rupaul:

Insomma, onestamente mi aspettavo qualcosa di più brioso e originale e nonostante la lodevole scelta di rappresentare la protagonista femminile come quella più di successo della coppia - finalmente mettendo in discussione i canoni della rappresentazione femminile nell'industria cinematografica mainstream, rimae il fatto che "Long Shot" non sia all'altezza delle aspettative: un prodotto ok che si lascia guardare, ma davvero nulla di eccezionale. Terribile, poi, il foto ritocco fatto su Charlize Theron in tutti i vari poster promozionali e non del film, poco credibile e mal riuscito.

Intro: Sempre sull'aereo, sempre a recuperare film che mi ero perso durante il periodo via.

In sintesi: onestamente ho dovuto rileggere la trama per riuscire a ricordarmi qualcosa di questo film. Non che sia brutto, anzi, sicuramente è un titolo per tutta la famiglia carino e piacevole, ma non così efficace. Almeno per me.
Non sono mai stato un fan della saga degli Incredibili, francamente, trovo tutta l'operazione simpatica, ma niente più di questo e fatico a comprenderne tutto il successo. Colloco questo "Incredibles 2" nella stessa categoria del primo - ovvero guardabile e dimenticabile -, anche se ammetto che il sequel mi è parso più caotico e sovraccarico di personaggi, dettagli, sottotrame. C'è veramente un sacco di un sacco di cose.
Forse rivederlo non sull'aereo mi aiuterebbe a farmelo rimanere più impresso, anche se devo dire che non ne sento proprio la necessità.

Vale o non vale: Chi ha amato il primo, sicuramente apprezzerà anche questo nuovo episodio - uscito a 14 anni di distanza dall'originale -; anche i fan di Disney e Pixar ameranno probabilmente il sequel che riporta sullo schermo la famiglia Parr e tutti i loro amici supereroi.
Per tutti gli altri ci dovrebbe essere sufficiente divertimento/disimpegno da risultare godibile, anche se personalmente ho trovato questa pellicola talmente ripiena di accadimenti e personaggi che ho finito con il dimenticarmi di tutto.
Premi: Candidato all'Oscar, al Golden Globe e al BAFTA per Miglior film d'animazione.

Film 1567 - The Post

Intro: E con questa pellicola siamo arrivati alla fine della nostra personale corsa agli Oscar. Non che si sia riusciti a coprire tutti i titoli in competizione per l'edizione 2018, ci mancherebbe, ma per quanto riguarda noi, questo è stato l'ultimo titolo guardato da me e mia cugina per metterci in pari con la situazione Academy Awards ormai agli sgoccioli (ricordo che stiamo sempre parlando di oltre un anno fa).

Film 1567: "The Post" (2017) di Steven Spielberg

In sintesi: la sensazione è che si tratti di un grande film, il risultato finale lascia meno convinti. Non che "The Post" non sia in grado di mantenere le proprie promesse, il punto è che lo fa in termini meno entusiasmanti del previsto. Il racconto è lento, lentissimo e si fa un riferimento quasi disperato alle due performance di Streep e Hanks, mancando a volte di centrare il bersaglio: la storia vera che sta dietro questo film. Le incertezze di Kay Graham (Streep) costruiscono il personaggio, ma affaticano lo spettatore, che non vede l'ora di sapere che ne sarà di Times e Post rispetto all'ostruzionismo messo in pratica dalla Casa Bianca per insabbiare certi scandali (si comincia dalla Guerra in Vietnam); si arriverà alla resa dei conti, ma per farlo ci vorranno quasi due ore;
Hanks mi sembra che giochi troppo sicuro con la sua interpretazione, mentre Streep mixa insieme una serie di suoi ultimi personaggi (Thatcher, Child e quella stravaganza alla Foster Jenkins) che la rendono sì, riconoscibile, ma forse qui non memorabile. Speravo in qualcosa di più;
ultimamente, va detto, Spielberg non sta dando il meglio di sé. Con "The Post" ha finalmente risollevato il tiro, ma ammetto che la grandezza e l'epicità che mi aspettavo da questa pellicola non ha trovato totale riscontro durante la visione. Storia interessante, tecnicamente ben realizzato, nell'insieme riuscito, ma non indimenticabile.

Vale o non vale: Spielberg, Streep ed Hanks insieme mi facevano talmente ben sperare che forse ho, come al solito, indugiato in troppe aspettative. Forse vale più la storia vera che il film, ma non si può certo dire che nel complesso non si tratti di un titolo di valore.
Premi: Candidato a 2 premi Oscar (Miglior film e attrice protagonista) e 6 Golden Globes (Miglior film, attrice e attore protagonisti, regia, sceneggiatura e colonna sonora).
