Film 1815 - Joker

Intro: Ammetto che non avessi una grande voglia di vederlo, ma dopo la vittoria a Venezia come Miglior film e le ottime recensioni sulla performance di Phoenix, non potevo esimermi dal farmi una mia idea.

In sintesi: c'era euforia, c'era attesa, c'erano molte aspettative e, come sempre accade in questi casi, alla fine il film non mi è piaciuto. Sì sì, Joaquin Phoenix è bravissimo, è da Oscar, è un grande, è tutto quello che volete, ma "Joker" come prodotto cinematografico di impatto globale non mi ha colpito nemmeno un po'. O meglio, mi ha colpito, ma più che altro per una certa noia di fondo che ha caratterizzato la visione. Arthur Fleck è pazzo, è disturbato, è marginalizzato e scartato dalla società, è un deriso, è insoddisfatto, ha dei sogni calpestati, ha delle ferite, ha tanti motivi per sentirsi male legittimamente. Bene.
Detto ciò, la storia non porta molto altro in scena, nel senso che di tutti questi elementi insieme ne fa una storia un po' banalotta e prevedibile - a parte, ammetto, il confronto con il presentatore De Niro e conseguente epilogo - che sì, ci regala la nascita del Joker come antagonista e cattivo di Batman, ma allo stesso tempo non ci aggiunge molto a tutto quello che avremmo potuto immaginarci già da soli sulla genesi di questo personaggio.
Quindi cos'è che di "Joker" ha tanto colpito il mondo? Francamente non me lo so spiegare se provo a prescindere dalla performance di Phoenix: è lui che chiaramente porta tutto il film sulle spalle - e gli fa gioco una buona colonna sonora - e dà un senso a tutta l'operazione. Anche perché ultimamente si sta sfruttando ampiamente il personaggio a distanza ravvicinata nel tempo (Ledger, Leto, Galifianakis e qui Phoenix) e con il successo planetario ottenuto da "The Dark Knight" non era impensabile ritenere difficile un riscontro positivo da parte di pubblico e critica. E, invece, eccoci a dover fare i conti con il titolo più candidato agli Oscar 2020, il primo e unico film R-rated (vietato ai minori) a superare il miliardo di dollari d'incasso, un fenomeno globale che ha riportato il suo protagonista fra gli attori di serie A e, in aggiunta, gli ha fornito una vetrina globale attraverso la quale veicolare messaggi importanti su ecologia, sostenibilità, cambiamento climatico, razzismo, omofobia e chi più ne ha più ne metta. Insomma, un vero e proprio fenomeno che ha polarizzato attenzione mediatica e opinioni; relativamente a queste ultime, ripeto, la mia non è particolarmente favorevole nel complesso, considerato che la prima parte del racconto mi è sembrata poco dinamica e che, in generale, il risultato finale non mi ha lasciato impressionato o colpito. L'ho visto, posso passare oltre.

Vale o non vale: Sono sicuro che in tantissimi amano e ameranno questa pellicola, m a me proprio non ha convinto. E' mancata empatia col personaggio, non c'è stata quella dose di azione che mi aspettavo, partivo in partenza con l'idea che il film avrebbe dovuto stupirmi (considerate le critiche entusiaste). In realtà è un prodotto che non rivedrei, molto pesante sia per toni che per tempi della narrazione, e fondamentalmente mi sento di salvare la grande interpretazione di Phoenix, la colonna sonora e una certa dose di iconicità che è impossibile non riconoscere a tutta l'operazione cinematografica. Direi che è da vedere per farsi una propria opinione, poi io personalmente passo oltre.
Premi: Candidato a 11 Oscar - il maggior numero dell'edizione 2020 - tra cui Miglior film, regia, sceneggiatura non originale e montaggio, ha vinto per il Miglior attore protagonista (Phoenix) e colonna sonora; stesse vittorie ai Golden Globes (su 4 nomination, anche film e regia) e 3 premi ai BAFTA (per attore, colonna sonora e la nuovissima categoria Miglior casting) su 11 nomination. A Venezia il film ha vinto il Leone d'Oro per la Miglior pellicola oltre che il premio per la colonna sonora e la Graffetta d'Oro. Candidato ai César (questa domenica) e ai David di Donatello (3 aprile) come Miglior film straniero. La pellicola è anche candidata a 1 Razzie Award per Worst Reckless Disregard for Human Life and Public Property (più o meno Peggiore disprezzo per la vita umana e la proprietà pubblica).

Film 1379 - LEGO Batman - Il film

Avevo visto il primo e mi era piaciuto tantissimo. Così quando è uscito lo spin-off avrei voluto vederlo subito e... non sono riuscito! Fortunatamente esiste lo streaming.

Pensieri: Da fan dell'originale di qualche anno fa, sono arrivato a questa pellicola con la quasi certezza che ne sarei rimasto molto soddisfatto. "The Lego Movie" era stato una piacevolissima, coloratissima, caotica sorpresa ed ero certo che anche per questo spin-off a tema Batman il piacere della visione non sarebbe mancato. Di fatto è stato così, anche se con una riserva.
Perché sì, "The LEGO Batman Movie" è ricolmo di gag divertenti, momenti comici, citazioni cult da altre pellicole, una grafica a dir poco accattivante, un tripudio di personaggi e un'idea d'insieme particolarmente articolata, ma la sensazione che si ha fin quasi da subito è che sia tutto troppo. Un po' come quando si hanno esattamente tutti gli elementi necessari ad eseguire una ricetta, eppure per quanto il risultato finale sia buono, non è perfetto o come te lo immaginavi o come lo faceva la nonna.
Questo seconda incursione del mondo LEGO nell'universo cinematografico è un po' così, perfetta sulla carta, ma alla fine meno gustosa di quanto tutti gli ingredienti impiegati avrebbero dovuto garantire.
A parte ciò - e il doppiaggio orrendo di Geppi Cucciari in italiano (ma perchè?!) - "LEGO Batman - Il film" è un buon esempio di pellicola d'animazione molto contemporanea, sicuramente adatta non solo ai bambini. Simpatico.

Consigli: Esempio non male di come si può riportare quasi intatta l'energia di una pellicola trasferendola sul solito prodotto collaterale. Per chi ha apprezzato il primo, anche questo spin-off legato all'universo di Batman dovrebbe proprio piacere. E per non farci mancare proprio niente, dal 22 settembre arriverà al cinema "The LEGO Ninjago Movie". Non satureranno un po' il mercato? Staremo a vedere.
