Oscars 2022: nomination e vincitori

Annunciate le nomination questa mattina all'alba (americana) con non poche difficioltà tecniche da Tracee Ellis Ross e Leslie Jordan, gli Oscar 2022 sono ufficialmente realtà. Tutto più o meno come previsto, anche se ci sono state alcune sorprese: niente nomination per Lady Gaga o Jennifer Hudson nella categoria Miglior attrice protagonista, niente di niente per "Passing" di Rebecca Hall, no cadidatura alla regia per Villeneuve (scandalo) come nemmeno per Maggie Gyllenhaal, anche se sono entrambi candidati alla sceneggiatura.
Belle sorprese quelle di Penélope Cruz e Judi Dench e belle conferme - dopo lo spavento dei BAFTA - di Kristen Stewart e Kirsten Dunst. Italia di nuovo in gara per il film straniero grazie a Sorrentino. Non mi aspettavo, invece, di vedere candidati Nicole Kidman e Javier Bardem per "Being the Ricardos".
Piccola curiosità: Penélope Cruz e Javier Bardem, Kirsten Dunst e Jesse Plemons sono tutti candidati nelle categorie attoriali e, nella vita vera, sono due coppie. Cruz e Bardem sono in lizza per gli attori protagonisti, mentre Dunst e Plemons per i non protagonisti.

Gli Oscar 2022 si terranno il 27 marzo 2022.

Film 2082 - Encanto

Intro: Sempre a casa ad auto-isolarci, continuiamo a recuperare pellicole uscite di recente in attesa di poter uscire di nuovo e, soprattutto, nella speranza di poter festeggiare il Capodanno con un test negativo!

Film 2082: "Encanto" (2021) di Jared Bush, Byron Howard

In sintesi: coloratissimo e molto fantasioso, "Encanto" è un bel film della Disney (solo Disney e niente Pixar) che riesce con tatto e simpatia a dare spazio e visibilità alla comunità ispanica anche per quanto riguarda il comparto animazione della casa di Topolino (c'erano già riusciti molto bene con "Coco").
Musicato dall'ormai onnipresente Lin-Manuel Miranda e doppiato da un talentuoso gruppo di attori - capitanato nientemeno che da Stephanie Beatriz (la Rosa Diaz di "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"!) e che comprende, tra gli altri, John Leguizamo, Diane Guerrero di "Orange Is the New Black" e il cantante Maluma - "Encanto" è il bel film che ti aspetti, anche se forse non il capolavoro assoluto che media e marketing hanno provato a venderci.
Capiamoci, l'ultimo film Disney è un piacere per gli occhi e sicuramente non manca di toccare le corde giuste, però come sempre quando recupero un film di cui ho già sentito molto parlare e letto particolarmente bene in termini di critica, finisco per rimanere sempre leggermente insoddisfatto. Sarà che mi aspettavo un film d'animazione e non un musical, sarà che il personaggio della nonna in alcuni passaggi mi ha deluso, di fatto qualche elemento che abbia fatto diminuire il mio stupore iniziale c'è stato. Credo che principalmente sia stato il primo fattore ad influenzare un po' in negativo la mia idea generale su questa pellicola, più che altro perché i numeri musicali sono tantissimi - coreografati, però, in maniera spettacolare devo dire - e alla lunga ricordo che mi avessero un po' stancato.
Poi, per carità, ho apprezzato la visione e in generale il film mi è piaciuto. L'idea della casa magica che di fatto è personaggio vero e proprio della storia è una bella idea e Mirabel è un'ottima protagonista, giustamente scelta come eroina della storia in quanto in opposizione con tutti gli altri modelli di perfezione espressi dai membri della sua famiglia (a cui la Casita ha concesso un dono magico) e, soprattutto, richiesti dalla matriarca e depositaria del dono iniziale. Il personaggio della nonna, come dicevo, mi ha fatto spesso arrabbiare per la gratuita anaffettività nei confronti dell'unica nipote senza poteri, come se la ragazza ne avesse una colpa. Mi rendo conto che di fatto la nonna sia l'unico vero elemento negativo della storia - di fatto quasi la cattiva - e che alla fine della storia capisca di avere sbagliato, comunque ho trovato il suo incaponirsi sciocco e irritante.
In ogni caso, "Encanto" è un buon film per tutta la famiglia che non avrà sbancato il botteghino 2021 causa Covid, ma sicuro sbancherà le cerimonie di premiazione 2022.

Notizia di ieri, la canzone "We Don't Talk About Bruno" che fa parte della colonna sonora del film è riuscita a scalare la classifica dei singoli più venduti in America - la Billboard Hot 100 - regalando alla Disney la seconda canzone alla #1 della sua storia dopo l'iconica "Il mondo è mio" ("A Whole New World") di "Aladdin". La colonna sonora di "Encanto", invece, ha già raggiunto la vetta della Billboard 200 in 3 settimane non consecutive.

Vale o non vale: Estremamente musicale e colorato, animato divinamente e ben doppiato, "Ecncanto" è il film perfetto per una serata di relax a casa a cervello semi spento (non del tutto perché le canzoni sono tante e per seguire la storia bisogna prestare attenzione durante i vari numeri musicali). In ogni caso, un bel cartoon che si lascia vedere volentieri.
Premi: Candidato a 3 Golden Globes per Miglior colonna sonora e canzone originale ("Dos Oruguitas"), il ha vinto per il Miglior film d'animazione; candidato al BAFTA per il Miglior film d'animazione.
